Welcome to Cub Scout Pack 82!
What is Cub Scouts about ?
In Cub Scouting you'll have lots of fun, adventure, and activities with your den and pack. But there's more to it than that. Being a Cub Scout means you are a member of a worldwide youth movement that stands for values and beliefs. Cub Scouts is family-centered. The entire family is welcome at Pack events and most cub scout activities requirements need parent involvement.
Cub Scouts Do Things and Go Places
Cub Scouting means "doing." You have lots to do as a Cub Scout— games, sports, outings and building crafts. The den usually meets twice a month, and the Pack meets once a month. At den meetings and Pack meetings, Cub Scouts do different things for fun and learning.
Fun Pack events include the pinewood derby, rocket launch, and May campout. Each year we organize a special winter overnight trip with popcorn sale money. Last year, we slept in the Hall of Fame at Lambeau Field!
Cub Scouts Earn Awards
While kids are having fun, they'll also be earning badges and awards. Kids will work on projects with their parents or other adults in their family, and they'll feel good about the things they accomplish.
The most popular awards for Cub Scouts are the advancement awards. Boys and girls fulfill requirements to advance and earn their badges of rank: Lion, Tiger, Bobcat, Wolf, Bear, Webelos Scout, and the Arrow of Light Award. The Arrow of Light is the highest award in Cub Scouting. Webelos Scouts also earn activity badges.
The Blue & Gold banquet in February/March is a special awards night. It is the night Webelos II Scouts will earn their Arrow of Light and cross over into Scouts BSA.
